Country Roads is a 55 and over adult, private community located in Yuma Arizona. The community is located within the city limits of Yuma, although the community has governing documents. The population of Yuma is approximately 90,000 and is predominately a farming community. Although, retirees looking for their spot in the sun with moderate winter weather, have made Yuma a haven for the winter visitor. When the winter season arrives, the population may rise to approximately 160,000. Yuma is located in the farthest Southwestern part of Arizona and rests along side the Colorado River. Yuma has a great wealth of history and has been designated as a National Heritage Community. The sites include historic downtown Yuma, Yuma Territorial Prison, the Crossing area and other locations to visit. The Mexican border is approximate 25 miles away and offers convenient shopping and culinary arts with a distinct Southwest flair.

Yuma Arizona is a desert climate with temperatures that may range in the 100 to 120 degrees in the summer, with low to moderate humidity. Although, the fall, winter and spring temperatures are very moderate and may range from 65 to 95 degrees. The winter evening and nights are even cooler.

There is major shopping available at our local malls and supermarkets, along with doctors, hospitals and specialists. Restaurants dot the city of Yuma with assorted dinning available to suit any taste, budget or schedule, including Mexican, Italian, Greek, Chinese, steaks and seafood. Entertainment can be found throughout the city. Major and minor auto and RV repair is also available, including major auto and RV dealerships. If big city shopping is what you are looking for, Phoenix Arizona is approximately 190 miles to the east, Tucson Arizona is approximately 220 miles to the southeast and San Diego California is approximately 190 miles to the west. Yuma has a regional airport with major carrier routes daily. For your convenience there is also tour companies, train schedules and bus services available for your needs.

Golf and other outdoor facilities are numerous throughout the city. Yuma has multiple professional courses, pro courses and championship courses, along with many par 3 courses for each individual needs. Parks are abundant with areas for Bar-B-Q’s, walking or bike riding.

The Yuma area boasts many desert trails and back roads for the explorer, with mountains abounding in the area for hiking or backpacking. Boating and fishing recreational areas are abundant throughout the Colorado River area, including Martinez Lake, Fishers Landing and Mittrey Lake, to name a few. There are river tour and boat rental establishments, along with fishing gear and bait available at the major recreational areas.
