The woodshop was organized early in the history of Country Roads by a few woodworking enthusiasts. It has expanded from a small room with very basic tools, accommodating eight to ten workers, to a 2300 square foot facility able to accommodate 20 or more crafts people working at one time. The facility is now equipped with a state-of-the-art dust control system, as well as machinery and tools that allow a worker to complete almost any project desired, from simple joinery to sophisticated lathe projects.
The Woodworkers Club has been active in contributing to Country Roads throughout the years. Recently they built cupboards for the Aztec, Inca and Mojave Rooms; built speaker enclosures in the Ballroom; and re-built access stairs to the stage. The club added a room to the south end of the shop to make the facility a safer, more efficient environment.
Members of the Woodworkers Club are entitled to unlimited use of the facilities during regular operating hours during the regular season (November through March). They welcome any Country Roads resident to make use of the excellent facility either for a $2 daily fee or a $45 yearly membership fee which covers shop supplies and maintenance. Club members have a wealth of experience and knowledge which they are willing to share with anyone interested. Monitors will provide help with your projects. Please come and have a look at the wonderful facility we have in our park.
