The Country Roads Guys and Gals Golf Club is very active. No matter what the weather has in store, there is always time for golf. Our club has approximately 200 members and we welcome more. Meetings are every Monday morning at 8 a.m. in the Ballroom. A golf instructor comes to the meetings and provides great golf tips. He also gives lessons for our club members at Mesa Del Sol, Wednesdays for gals and Thursdays for guys.
Every two weeks we do a Guys & Gals best ball on Saturdays and once a month we play at the Yuma Golf & Country Club. Through our volunteer Course Coordinators, we are able to play these courses at preset preferred times and at reduced rates. In November there is a Thanksgiving
Turkey shoot and in February the Shoot for Chocolates. But, the big golf event of the year is the
CAN/AM challenge & BBQ in January. If the Canadians win, then the Americans serve the BBQ, and if the Canadians are the winners, they serve the Americans. Here in Country Roads our two countries are like one, we compete, party and treat each other the same.
In February we generally take a trip out of Yuma, a two day trip to Emerald Canyon in Parker.
The members also enjoy out of town trips to Barbara Worth in February and Borrego Springs in March. Both very popular with club members. While Country Roads does not have a golf course, we do have chipping and putting greens and a golf cage that can be used for practice by residents.
Join us on Mondays at 8 a.m. to learn all about the club happenings and how to sign up for the golf courses that our club plays. Membership in the club is $20 for the season which includes participation in the end-of- season golf tournament and banquet. Or you can pay $4 a month (if you are here for a short time) and $1 per course per person for in the park guest. Come and join the Club for great golf in the Yuma area.
